Julia Ormond

JuliaOrmond was born in Epsom, Surrey, the daughter of Josephine, a laboratory technician and John Ormond, a stockbroker. She is the second child of five children for her parents. In the beginning, she was a student at Guildford High School and then Cranleigh School. There, her initial lead performances in Guys and Dolls and My Fair Lady were noticed. After a year in art school, she was enrolled to Webber-Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art, where she graduated in 1988. Ormond first made an appearance in British television in the 1989 show Traffik, about the illegal heroin trade from the far East to the streets of Europe. Ormond played the heroin dependent daughter of the main character the Home Office minister working to fight heroin imports. The character's first appearance earned him rave reviews.
