
Lee was born Thomas Lee Bass on October 3, 1962, in Athens, Greece, to father David Lee Thomas Bass, an American U.S. Army sergeant and mother Vassiliki "Voula" Papadimitriou (Greek: Basilike Papademetriou), one of the contestants in the 1957 Miss Greece beauty contest. Athena her younger sister, is also a drummer. Lee was just two years old when his father accompanied his family on a trip to the United States. Lee received his first drums at the age of four, as well as his first large drum kit at the age of an adolescent. To pursue a career as musician He dropped out of high school and joined the L.A. nightclub band Suite 19. As a teen was listening to Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, Cheap Trick, Kiss, AC/DC and Sweet. His most significant drumming influences include John Bonham, Tommy Aldridge, Alex Van Halen and Terry Bozzio
