Anita Sarkeesian has been a media critic, blogger and a prestigious feminist for more than 10 years. Feminist Frequency, a web-based resource for education that examines women's roles in pop culture narratives, is her brainchild. The site also has the executive director. Sarkeesian is a graduate in social and political thinking from York University. Passionate about issues of gender identities and feminisms from the age of 7, she started her site Feminist Frequency in the year 2009 when she was she was still at university. Someone who hoped to launch a web-series that would examine the gender-based representation in video games was targeted in an online campaign. The harassment didn't discourage her. She was only able to strengthen her position as a feminist journalist. Her notable contributions to the field of feminist are recognized with numerous awards. Anita Sarkeesian is an award winning media critic and the founder of Feminist Frequency an educational and non-profit organization that explores the representations of women in popular cultural narratives.
